Who We Are

ADVANCED ENERGY ECONOMY (AEE) is a national association of businesses and business leaders who are making the global energy system more secure, clean, and affordable. Advanced energy encompasses a broad range of products and services that constitute the best available technologies for meeting energy needs today and tomorrow.

Our members include companies involved in technology development; component and product manufacturing; project and infrastructure development; equipment installation; and engineering, finance, and advisory services, among other activities that help business and residential consumers meet their energy needs in better ways.

What We Do

AEE’s mission is to influence public policy, foster advanced energy innovation and business growth, and provide a unified voice for a strong U.S. advanced energy industry.

AEE is working to change the public narrative to recognize the value of advanced energy and contribute to a pragmatic conversation about our energy future. AEE is actively involved in reframing the debate over federal energy and tax policy, has launched legislative initiatives in states around the country, and engaging with public utility commissions to boost industry success.

To support its mission, AEE is creating a national network of allied organizations across states and across industries to help the advanced energy industry succeed across the country. AEE has partner organizations in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and New England, with more to come, and member companies across the country.

Why It Matters

With global energy consumption projected to rise nearly 40 percent by 2030, future prosperity depends on meeting growing demand with energy that is secure, clean and affordable – that is, advanced energy. Advanced energy solutions create value for customers and for the economy. It is this value that contributes to long-term growth for the economy overall, and to growth of advanced energy companies specifically. Just as the Internet economy transformed society in unexpected ways, the advanced energy economy has the potential to create dramatic new opportunities for economic growth in the U.S. and around the world.

How We Work
