Electric Power Daily reports on AEE's convention presence
Electric Power Daily // Aug 30, 2012Electric Power Daily, an electricity focused trade journal, covered AEE's presence at both the Republican and Democratic Conventions. The article highlights the "Powering the City" events, underwritten by AEEI and hosted by the National Journal and the Atlantic.
“This is AEE’s first appearance at the national political conventions,” said Robert Keough, vice president of communications for AEE. He said the organization saw the conventions as an opportunity to be involved with politics, and it was the first introduction to work with activists and public officials.“AEE wants to be a persistent presence in all those venues that make a difference for our members and the broader industry that we represent,” he said. In addition to the partnership with the Atlantic and National Journal to “explore issues in energy as they pertain to urban areas,” Keough said AEE also had a kickoff reception before the convention began at an art museum in Tampa.
