Energy management company EnerNOC adds natural gas to its portfolio
Greentech Media // Apr 20, 2012EnerNOC, a demand response company based in Massachusetts, is expanding into managing natural gas consumption. EnerNOC will cover demand response for natural gas for approximately 4,000 industrial and commercial costomer sites for New York City's National Grid. As Greentech Media reports, most demand response models are based on peak use in summer months. EnerNOC's new platform will shift consumption based on demand for wintertime heating. The expansion of EnerNOC's portfolio reflect new needs for EnerNOC's customers:
"Utility energy management opportunities are evolving, and EnerNOC offers the full breadth of services to make the most of those opportunities," said Tim Healy, EnerNOC's Chairman and CEO. "From hardware to software to full integration with back-office systems, this project demonstrates that range. It's also true to our goal of helping customers use energy more efficiently. Whether that energy comes in the form of electric power or natural gas, we are dedicated to helping utilities and their customers save money on their energy purchases."
