With gas prices remaining high in California and new state incentives to move more drivers to advanced vehicles, the Chevrolet Volt has been enjoying huge sales numbers. Additionally, electric vehicles may use California carpool lanes at any time. For customers tired of traffic, that incentive adds to the desirability of the Volt. The Detroit Free Press reports:

"I've had more people talk to me in the last couple months about the Volt than I have in the last year," said Bill Cumming, general manager of Ron Baker Chevrolet in National City, Calif., a San Diego suburb. "Currently, I have none in stock."
