$2 billion opportunity for advanced energy manufacturing in Michigan
The Detroit News // May 03, 2012A new study from the Energy Innovation Business Council points to energy efficiency as an untapped market for Michigan's manufacturing sector. The report posits that expanding advanced building manufacturing in the state could spur as much as $2 billion in economic activity. The Detroit News reports:
"Energy efficiency is an important and growing sector in the advanced energy industry and currently supports jobs throughout Michigan," said Ed Clemente, the [Energy Innovation Business] Council's president, in a statement. "This report tells the story of Michigan's energy efficiency manufacturers and shines a light on their economic contributions to our state."
