Walmart: 100 stores with solar roofs, constructs wind turbine
Forbes // Aug 10, 2012Walmart again demonstrates its commitment to advanced energy with the erection of a 1-megawatt GE turbine at a distribution center in California. Walmart has installed solar panels on the roofs of 100 stores and has a goal of relying solely on renewable energy sources to power its operations. Forbes reports:
“It looks like our renewable energy strategy is going to take a lot of tools,” says Greg Pool, a director of energy for Walmart. “We are pursuing wind energy and renewable energy at a lot of different levels.”
