Shell opens demonstration hydrogen fueling station
Clean Technology Business Review // Aug 20, 2012Although electric cars and natural gas-fueled fleets receive the lion's share of media coverage, the advanced vehicle market has many facets. To that end, Shell has opened a demonstration hydrogen gasoline station in Newport Beach, California. It is Shell's fourth such demonstration station in the region. Clean Technology Business Review reports:
Shell Alternative Energies North America commercial manager Matias Sanchez Cane has called for enhanced cooperation amongst fuel providers, car markers, equipment suppliers and manufacturers to reduce costs and achieve commercial success of hydrogen stations. "Demonstration hydrogen filling stations allow us to evaluate a range of different technologies and learn valuable lessons about costs, consumer behavior and how to dispense it efficiently to different vehicles," added Sanchez Cane.
