AEE Ohio Hopes to Unite Advanced Energy Companies
Cleveland Plain Dealer // Jun 28, 2012The Plain Dealer reported on an event held by AEE and AEE Ohio in Cleveland on Wednesday, June 28, following the release earlier that day of a statewide poll demonstrating Ohioan’s favorable opinion of advanced energy. Local companies in attendance included General Electric Power Systems, Rockwell Automation, GrafTech International and quasar energy group; also in attendance was Larry Benders, Cuyahoga County’s director of development, who told participants that the county intends to deploy a $100 million economic development fund to help start-up companies become competitive. The Plain Dealer reports:
“Advanced Energy's purpose is to bring unity and clarity about the needs of companiesthat develop and manufacture advanced and renewable technologies, [Kimberly Gibson, executive director of AEE Ohio]said. Those include not only fuel cells but also wind turbines, solar arrays, biogas from garbage and animal waste, as well as computer controlled systems for manufacturing and energy efficiency.”
