Advanced Energy Economy, Alliance for Clean Energy New York, and the Northeast Clean Energy Council Congratulate New York’s Public Service Commission Appointments, Confirmations

Washington, D.C., June 23, 2017 — Today, three groups representing advanced energy companies, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), its state partner, Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY), and regional partner, Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC), released these statements congratulating John Rhodes, James Alesi, and Phil Wilcox for their appointment and confirmation to the New York Public Service Commission (PSC) and also Diane Burman for her reconfirmation. Now that the Senate has confirmed four Commissioners, the PSC has a full complement to conduct its important work.

“We truly look forward to working with Chair Rhodes and his new colleagues in continuing to implement the Reforming the Energy Vision initiatives, and working to bring a more modern, clean, and resilient electricity grid to New York," said Anne Reynolds, Executive Director of ACE NY. "Clean energy companies continue to look to New York as a potential place to invest, and the evolving policies are a big part of the landscape that makes New York attractive for this investment.”

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to engage with and support the new Commission as it takes on the significant work that remains to fully implement the Reforming the Energy Vision," stated Lisa Frantzis, Senior Vice President of AEE. "As the work transitions from policymaking proceedings to implementing new frameworks across the utilities, we encourage the Commission to press on until it achieves the vision of a modern and clean electricity system that delivers better value to customers through animated and competitive markets.”

"NECEC welcomes the new leadership at the PSC and stands ready to work with New York to take the important next steps to realize its vision of an animated DER market delivering the benefits of clean and advanced energy to all customers," said Janet Gail Besser, Executive Vice President of NECEC.
