THE MISSOURI TIMES HIGHLIGHTS STATE POLICY BRIEF FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY MARKET

The Missouri Times explores the local opportunity for economic growth and private investment under the corporate sustainability goals outlined in AEE’s “Expanding Missouri’s Corporate Renewable Market.”  

Missouri’s high renewable energy potential makes it well-positioned to capture the economic benefits of growing corporate demand for renewables, but barriers that keep willing buyers and sellers from doing business are stifling market growth. Meeting just 1 percent of the energy needs of large corporate customers in Missouri with new wind and solar resources would drive approximately $220 million in project-related and induced economic development, and create nearly 2,000 job-years (one job-year being one job lasting one year in duration) of clean-energy-driven employment, according to the report based on analysis done by Meister Consultants Group for AEE.
