Membership Sales Account Executive

Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our membership sales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding quota and developing customer accounts in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Must be a self-starter with exceptional networking and customer acquisition skills who knows how to close deals. Must also be able to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team and to build effective long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the value, benefits, and features of all forms of AEE membership
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to consistently meet or exceed quota
  • Work with AEE’s broader Membership and Corporate Development team to improve both our inbound and outbound lead qualification and sales systems
  • Work with AEE’s broader team of initiative leads to coordinate membership sales activity
  • Define success criteria and value propositions with each customer
  • Negotiate and close new sales for membership ranging from $5K to $70K
  • Create groundswell and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years as a Sales Account Manager with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experience developing and maintaining customer relationships in a B2B environment; prior membership sales experience preferred.
  • Commitment to operating with a sense of urgency and a positive winning attitude
  • Excellent writing / verbal communication skills to interact with prospects / AEE members
  • Have a good understanding of trade associations from a conceptual standpoint and be able to effectively and succinctly communicate this to both inexperienced and experienced audiences
  • Accurate forecasting and pipeline management skills
  • History of being a top producer in previous roles
  • Strong focus on your goals and a belief that your daily, weekly, and monthly activities will help you achieve them
  • Proven consultative selling and closing skills
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office products

Highly Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of the energy and/or government affairs industry
  • Basic awareness of the role of policy in the energy industry
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed team
  • Passion for AEE’s mission of driving toward a prosperous world based on secure, clean, affordable energy

Ruby on Rails Senior Developer

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Senior Developer to join our small but growing development team. You’ll work on a variety of web projects, from implementing interactive front-ends to designing and building enterprise grade back-end solutions. Working closely with our VP of Product and Engineering Team, you will be responsible for overseeing and growing a mature codebase, a one-of-a-kind document data store larger than Wikipedia, a state of the art data pipeline stretching from a Python based scraping engine to a Ruby on Rails front end application, an Elasticsearch full text search service and integrations with both Microsoft Azure's and AWS' machine learning services.

Our PowerSuite SaaS platform includes hundreds of customers such as Apple, Microsoft, General Electric, Opower (Oracle) and SunPower and is rapidly expanding to new market segments.

Responsibilities

  • 5 or more years of professional experience architecting and building scalable web apps
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Ruby on Rails in a production environment
  • Minimum one year using the Elastic stack, and Elasticsearch in particular, in a production environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS and experience with at least one javascript framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)
  • Git version control
  • Scrum (bi-weekly sprints) and Test Driven Development
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS and/or Heroku

Ability To:

  • Work with our development team and other internal and external customers in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
  • Communicate clearly with other members of the team, both internal and external, and work on multiple projects under light supervision.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • While your strength is rails, experience with other languages (Python, R), technologies (NOSQL, Redis) and platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce) is a big bonus.
  • Experience building supervised and unsupervised machine learning (ML) models with applications in areas such as document classification and sentiment analysis
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed team
  • Passion for AEE’s mission of moving the world to a secure, clean, affordable energy future

Compensation: AEE pays competitive salaries, which are dependent on individual experience.
